Hyundai had a poor image in the U.S. for a very long time and despite having very good vehicles, they couldn’t shed their “tin can transportation” reputation as their sales continually lagged despite solid ad spending. S&P was hired to change this and we did it quickly. Our ad campaign gave Hyundai the largest sales quarter in their history and helped the brand achieve record image gains. All of this happened even though Hyundai had no new model introductions during our tenure.

EA Sports asked S&P to launch a new version of their Madden NFL video game with a new feature called “Playmaker control.” We filmed real-world NFL superstars in uniform describing what it takes to be a “playmaker” and intercut this footage with Madden video game action footage. The spots succeeded in tapping into the competitive spirit of the target and the game became the top selling sports video game of its time.
